APPAP is an organization that serves as a resource for Physician Assistants and Physician Assistant students interested in postgraduate education. Please see our Programs Page for a listing of available programs offered by state or specialty.

The PA Profession is based on the medical model of broad, generalist education provided by entry-level PA Programs. With this core training, PAs may be successfully integrated into any medical or surgical specialty with adequate on-the-job training and appropriate MD supervision. Post-graduate PA Residency Training Programs are voluntary. APPAP is opposed to mandates by state boards, hospitals and other employers to require postgraduate clinical training for obtaining hospital privileges or employment.
