Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children,  Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Fellowship

This 12-month pediatric emergency medicine fellowship for physician assistants is the only fellowship program to provide specialized training in pediatric emergency medicine. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pediatric emergency medicine and to become a leader amongst physician assistants who desire to practice in pediatrics. Fellows will gain the fundamentals of pediatric emergency care through both didactic and clinical training, including lectures and conferences and rotations in various pediatric subspecialties. The fellowship will begin in October.

From the experience and competences gained through the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Fellowship at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, fellows will have an exclusive advantage in a competitive job environment. The fellow will be a potential candidate for employment at Nemours following completion of our fellowship.

About the Hospital

The primary site of training is the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, a tertiary children’s hospital and the main teaching facility for the Thomas Jefferson University Pediatric Residency Program as well as the main pediatric clinical site for Jefferson Medical College. The hospital is located in Wilmington, Delaware, about 30 minutes from the Jefferson campus in Philadelphia. In 2014, the 200-bed hospital completed a $270 million expansion project to provide all single-family inpatient rooms and a state-of-the-art pediatric intensive care unit. The tertiary referral base covers a wide geographical area that includes Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northern Maryland. The original hospital building is used for administration and research and includes an on-site child care center for children of staff.
