The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, is excited to announce we are seeking applicants for our Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency

The Department:

  • 82-bed emergency department

(>80,000 visits annually)

  • New Mexico’s only Level I Trauma Center and only Children’s Hospital
  • Tertiary Referral Center
  • Outstanding EM Residency program
  • World class faculty specializing in EM Education, EMS, Pediatric EM, Wilderness Med, Disaster Med, and EM/Critical Care.
  • High-acuity patient population (trauma and medicine) with high admit rate

Curriculum:

  • Dedicated orientation block
  • 18-Month training program (late June – late December)
  • 9 Blocks Adult ED, including a dedicated rotation in the ED Resuscitation Unit
  • 2 Blocks Peds ED
  • 2 Blocks ICU
  • Rotations in Cardiology, OB/Gyn, Ortho, Anesthesia, Toxicology and Ultrasound
  • Elective opportunities in Wilderness Medicine, Disaster Medicine, Toxicology, EMS and Research

Benefits:

  • $55,000 yearly salary
