Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center – Emergency Medicine PA Residency

The Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview allows PA residents the opportunity to train at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions for a career in emergency medicine. Residents are paid a stipend of $48,174 per year (a total of $72,261 for the entirety of the 18-month residency), and are provided life, AD&D, short-term disability and malpractice insurance. Medical, dental and vision plans also are offered, as well as continuing medical education funds. All residents receive paid time off. The program is based at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and is part of the Association of Postgraduate PA Programs.

DESCRIPTION:
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program for physician assistants is an 18-month residency program that includes training in ATLS, ABLS, FCCS and Emergency Ultrasound. Residents will participate in Adult ED rotations and off-service rotations. In addition to the scheduled rotations, residents will participate in emergency medicine and specialty-specific conferences on a weekly basis. Conferences are coordinated and conducted by clinical professionals and colleagues from emergency medicine and specified specialty areas. During the final six months of the residency program, the resident also will function as a mentor to junior residents and complete an administrative project.
